My Journey to Speaking on the Powerful Ladies Podcast

When perfectionism meets imposter syndrome, the battle can feel relentless—an exhausting cycle of self-doubt, high expectations, and the fear of being exposed as "not enough." As an immigrant who arrived in the U.S. during my high school years, I know this struggle all too well. For years, I measured my worth by an unattainable standard, never fully embracing my achievements, even as I built a successful career as an immigration attorney.

But growth often comes when we least expect it, and sometimes, it takes a bold leap outside our comfort zone to realize our own strength. That’s exactly what happened when I was invited to be a guest on Powerful Ladies Podcast, Episode 301.

When I first received the invitation, my initial reaction was hesitation. I admired the women who had been featured on the podcast before—successful, eloquent, and inspiring. Could I bring the same level of value to the conversation? Was my story worth sharing?

However, as an immigration attorney, I understand firsthand the impact of changing immigration laws, especially in today's climate and how crucial it is to educate and empower those navigating the system. I reminded myself that my voice, my experiences, and my insights matter. Instead of focusing on perfection, I chose to focus on purpose.

Recording the episode was a transformative experience. I spoke about my journey as an immigrant, the challenges of imposter syndrome, and the shift from chasing perfection to embracing service. What I’ve learned through this journey is that perfection isn’t the goal—connection is. If my story resonates with even one person who feels unseen, unheard, or unsure of their own worth, then stepping out of my comfort zone was worth it.

I’m incredibly grateful to Kara Duffy, the founder of Powerful Ladies and her team for the opportunity to share my story. If you’ve ever struggled with imposter syndrome, self-doubt, or the pressure to be perfect, I encourage you to listen to Powerful Ladies Podcast, Episode 301. My hope is that it reminds you: You are more capable than you think, your story matters, and sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is simply show up as yourself.
